It is no coincidence that the four things which are at the heart of what we do, also spell out NIEC. We believe it is every child’s right to have a good start in life, and as the national training institute for early childhood (EC) development in Singapore, we play an important role in safeguarding that right and imbibing every EC educator that comes through our doors with the same belief and conviction.
Although NIEC was formed in 2018, our faculty has been making significant contributions to the development and growth of the EC sector in Singapore for a long time. Some of them were pioneers in their fields, innovating and inspiring others as they chartered new pathways.
Today, we are excited to be at the forefront of the change happening in the EC landscape and are honoured to play a key role in shaping future generations of EC educators.
We cannot wait to chart new routes, discover fresh ideas, and create innovative ways to nurture, inspire, educate and care for our EC educators.
Academic Positions (Lecturers/Curriculum Developers)
We are looking for experienced EC practitioners and leaders who are eager and excited to nurture and inspire students to become work-ready, self-directed and reflected, and confident preschool teachers, who in turn will shape future generations of young children .
Besides possessing the requisite qualifications in early childhood education or related fields, you must have the drive and patience to work with young adults and/or adult learners, and the temperament to work in teams, and in a dynamic environment that requires quick reaction and critical thinking. Apart from teaching positions, our academic staff also work in curriculum development, faculty and sector leadership development, as well as applied research. There are also opportunities for professional development, cross-campus rotation and sector attachments to hone your knowledge and expertise in EC.

Our academic programmes and initiatives are well-supported by a dedicated group of corporate and operations staff. We are constantly on the lookout for talent in various areas of expertise such as finance, marketing, human resource, IT, strategic planning, student management, and academic affairs to help take NIEC higher.
