Building Number Sense
About Course
This course focuses on enabling learners to make connections between theory (NEL Principles) and practice and vice-versa in relation to number-sense. The course includes observing, reflecting on related classroom activities and planning differentiated number-sense activities.
Note: This course will be conducted via online learning until further notice.
Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate their understanding of the “Whys” and “Hows” of teaching and learning numbers through hands-on activities.

Create differentiated number-sense activities for children in N2 to K2.

Use the resources provided in this course to further develop resources in their centres.
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:

Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.

Be ECDA-certified as an L1/L2 teacher.

Currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA.
Upon Completion
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
