Essentials of 3Rs in Interactions
with Infants and Toddlers
About Course
This course was formerly known as "Respectful, Responsive and Reciprocal (3Rs) Interactions with Infants and Toddlers: Building Trusting Relationships with Young Children".
The course aims to enable learners to outline their role in the primary caregiving system, and apply the 3Rs while interacting with infants and toddlers to meet their needs. Learners will develop and employ strategies to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents in applying the 3Rs of interactions with children.
Note: This course will be conducted via online learning until further notice.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

Acquire a better understanding of the 3Rs in interactions

Apply the 3Rs in their daily interactions and relationships with children in the primary caregiving system

Develop strategies to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents in applying the 3Rs of interactions with children.
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:

Singaporean or Permanent Resident EY1/EY2 Educarer or L1 teacher.

Preferably 3 years of trained teaching experience in the early childhood sector.

Currently employed in a preschool registered or licensed with ECDA.

Have met the competencies and skills of Infant/Toddler Educarer or Beginning Educarer as described in the Skills Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
Course Assessment Requirements
Applicants are required to observe and implement an activity with a child/small group of children. Should you have concerns about meeting this assessment requirement due to school holidays, you may consider alternative intakes that do not fall within the holiday period.
Upon Completion
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
