About Course

Using instructional strategies rooted in interactive learning, learners will be equipped with enhanced knowledge and skills to design, implement and evaluate the Mother Tongue Language (Tamil) curriculum. Learners will also gain strategies to observe, document and assess children’s learning of the Tamil Language as well as to engage families and the community in supporting children’s learning.

Note: This course will be conducted via online learning until further notice.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• Plan, implement and evaluate an effective and integrated MTL curriculum for children aged 4-6 years.

• Use appropriate resources and the vibrant strategies to facilitate children’s learning.

• Appreciate the uniqueness of local context of MTL and its ethnic culture.

• Observe and assess children’s learning of MTL and strengthen the home-school and community partnership in learning.

Entry Requirements

This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria: 

• Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.

• Be ECDA-certified as L2 teacher.

• Currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA.

Upon Graduation

Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC) and Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
