Discover why joining the early childhood sector is a quest worth taking — expand each section below to unlock the rewards waiting for you!

Early childhood educators are in the privileged position of being a child’s first teachers during a crucial period of rapid brain growth. By nurturing young minds and teaching essential skills and values, you can help build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Curious about what it’s really like to be an early childhood educator? Meet the educators who make a difference, one child at a time.

Additionally, hear from our students as they reflect on the moments from their early years that sparked a dream — to become the kind of preschool educator they once looked up to here!

The government has implemented initiatives to support the growth of the sector, creating opportunities for both career and educational progression. During the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)’s Early Childhood Celebrations 2024, Minister for Social and Family Development, Masagos Zulkifli shared that close to 40,000 new infant and childcare places will be developed from 2025 to 2029 (November 2024, ECDA). This expansion would mean you can enjoy employment opportunities and job security in the sector.

Below is an indication of the expected gross monthly salary ranges for EC educators in Anchor Operator (AOP) centres by 2024. You can find more information here.

Preschool Educators: From $2,900

Infant & Early Years Educators: From $2,600

Your journey doesn’t stop at being an educator. With our diploma, you can:

  • Apply for full-time degree programmes at Autonomous Universities (AUs) or overseas universities. You may find the full university accreditation list here.
  • Continue learning through NIEC’s post-diplomas or continuing professional development courses.

ECDA has also announced the expansion of career pathways in the early childhood space. This includes leadership, learning support or early intervention roles. Click here or watch this to find out how you can develop professionally throughout your early childhood career!
