Ms Christine Soo Mee Ling
Lead Senior Lecturer, NIEC (City) Campus
  • Birth to Three

Ms Christine Soo Mee Ling holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College and a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Education from Edith Cowan University. She has two decades of experience in the early childhood sector. Her specialisation includes the Early Years, Child Development, Social-Emotional Learning and Professional Development. She has conducted leadership workshops, coached early childhood leaders, and mentored educators to address the diverse needs of children and their families. To enable student teachers to understand and put theory to practice, she conceptualized the 3P Pedagogical Approach where faculty presents knowledge and skills in bite-sizes, then allow student teachers to practise their learning with guidance before they independently demonstrate confidence in applying their learning during the assessments and at their workplace.

As an ECDA Fellow, Ms Christine is a strong advocate for parent engagement to develop and strengthen home-school partnerships and raising the emotional well-being of young children. With extensive experience in preschool leadership, management, curriculum development and professional growth, she regularly contributes to Grow@Beanstalk and AECES Early Educators, and presents at Early Childhood Development and PECERA conferences, and was conferred the SkillsFuture Fellowship Award in 2022.
