About Course
Parental engagement in the preschool classroom is crucial to the quality of home-centre partnerships. In this short course, teachers will gain knowledge on useful parent engagement initiatives that can enhance trusting, respectful relationships with preschool children through positive interactions with their parents.
Note: This course will be conducted via online learning.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Articulate what constitutes meaningful and respectful engagement when interacting with parents.
- Role-play how to build trusting relationships and develop a joint vision.
- Understand and analyse differentiated levels of family engagement.
- Construct an action plan to strengthen home-centre partnerships.
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.
- Be ECDA-certified as an EY2/L1/L2 teacher.
- Currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA.
