Be Inspired! Meet our Team.
Becoming a preschool teacher by chance, I experienced immense growth and development from Professional training to teaching and working at NIEC. This developed both my skills and character, and were fundamental in understanding an educator’s role in children’s lives. I have worked with families and children of various backgrounds, adapting me to different situations and understanding their needs. NIEC has contributed significantly to my growth, providing me many opportunities to work on projects and roles that resonated with my values.
Being passionate about contributing to the education of the nation’s future generation, I stepped into the Early Childhood field. During my time with NIEC, I have made valuable achievements such as organizing virtual course previews during the height of the COVID pandemic, piloting the first RPA implementation and BI Power charts, and leading and developing the Admissions team. I am very grateful for the guidance I have received, and I have found myself exceeding expectations despite the challenging learning experiences.
The fundamental right to education for all children is something that I have always advocated for. With nearly 18 years of experience working with youths, I understand teachers’ collective role in shaping the future through our children. My tenure at NIEC has given me many avenues to share my expertise in early intervention and inclusive practices. I have also gained a team with remarkable synergy and collaboration, always coming together to brainstorm and find solutions during challenging situations.
I began teaching at the secondary level, which provided me insights into the diverse needs and abilities of students. Motivated by parenthood, I pursued a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, joining NIEC at its inception. NIEC provides an enriching environment, allowing me to shoulder diverse responsibilities and spearhead initiatives. Thanks to the support given, I have advanced to Senior Lecturer and Senior Curriculum Specialist roles. NIEC encourages innovative ideas and rewards diligent efforts, empowering me to make continuous meaningful contributions.
Previously being part of the NIEC’s Finance Division, my growing enthusiasm for technology eventually led me to pursue IT. Thanks to NIEC’s supportive culture, I was able to transition smoothly, having access to various courses to continuously strengthen my IT skills and contributing to many impactful projects. NIEC’s community fosters both individual and collective success, allowing me to utilise my IT skills to support the incredible mission of empowering educators who shape the future of early childhood.
I believe in investing in our pre-service teachers, with the mindset that they will be encouraged to likewise invest in every child they teach in the future. I encourage discussions where students are challenged, exchanging ideas and raising arguments as it helps develop cognitive skills. At NIEC, I have been continuously motivated by my colleagues in my professional growth. It has been incredibly rewarding experiencing personal and professional milestones of my former students, highlighting the lasting influence educators have across generations.
