Leadership in early childhood education (Dr Siti Shaireen Selamat, Dean, Faculty & Leadership Development, National Institute of Early Childhood Development)

On November 24, Dr Siti Shaireen Selamat, Dean of the Faculty & Leadership Development Division at NIEC, appeared on CNA938’s Our Town with Susan Ng to discuss the pivotal role of early childhood leaders in shaping the future of education.
During the radio feature, Dr. Shaireen explored topics such as:
  • The evolving demands on early childhood leaders, including managing diverse teams, addressing increasing operational complexities, and meeting policy and parental expectations.
  • The importance of relational leadership, adaptive strategies, and fostering a supportive environment for both teachers and children.
  • The impact and judicious use of technology in early childhood education to enhance learning and collaboration while maintaining core human interactions.
Dr. Shaireen also announced NIEC’s new Centre of Excellence in Early Childhood Leadership, a hub for thought leadership and peer learning.
