Early Childhood Leaders

Shaping Leaders in Early Childhood Education

The early years are the foundation of lifelong learning. That’s why strong leadership in early childhood settings isn’t just nice to have — it’s essential.

At NIEC, we believe leadership happens at every level. Whether you’re managing a centre, mentoring peers, or advocating for change — you’re leading. And we’re here to help you lead better.

NIEC as the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Leadership

As Singapore’s national training institute for early childhood educators, NIEC is proud to serve as the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Leadership — a commitment reaffirmed by Minister Chan Chun Sing in 2023.

Building on our foundational role since 2019, we are deepening our efforts to uplift professional standards and empower early childhood leaders to lead with confidence and clarity.

In collaboration with research institutions like the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the National University of Singapore (NUS), and guided by the Leadership Development Framework by ECDA, we’re growing a dynamic leadership ecosystem through:

  • Rigorous and relevant leadership training

  • Research-informed practice

  • Peer learning and mentoring opportunities

  • Communities of practice for centre leaders

Whether you’re stepping into leadership or sharpening your skills, NIEC’s programmes are grounded in real-world challenges — equipping you to lead with both vision and heart.

Leadership Pathways Designed for You

Whether you’re stepping into leadership for the first time or growing in your current role, our courses support your journey at every stage.
