About Course

This course prepares Inclusion Coordinators (ICO) with the knowledge and skills to support early childhood (EC) educators to flag children with developmental needs in preschools for further assessment. Participants will be equipped with an overview of early intervention programmes in Singapore. Participants will learn to use basic screenings tools in classroom setting; develop centre-level referral processes and engage in effective communication with families and caregivers on children’s needs

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • describe the early intervention programmes for preschoolers in Singapore;
  • use basic screening tools to record children’s skills and learning profile in the classroom setting;
  • develop simple Centre-level processes for preschool according to the referral process for early intervention programmes; and
  • explain principles of communication to engage families and caregivers of children who potentially have developmental needs
Upon Completion

Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).

Entry Requirements

This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.
  • Be ECDA-certified as EY2/L1/L2 teacher.
  • Currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA.

    Day 1 2 hour Online Quiz (to be completed anytime within 1 week) Online Learning
    Day 2 and 3 (1 week from Day 1) 9am to 4.30pm Online Learning
