Dr Hanin Binte Hussain,
Senior Lecturer in the Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group, National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore

Dr Hanin has an extensive teaching experience in primary and early childhood education in Singapore and New Zealand. Dedicated to curriculum design and development, her research interest includes complexity thinking in education. Dr Hanin actively collaborates with on enhancing educational practices, including developing transition position statements for smooth progression to primary school. Her commitment to integrating theory and practice enriches student learning and contributes significantly to the field of early childhood education.

Associate Professor Sum Chee Wah,
Head of the Master of Early Childhood Education Programme, S R Nathan School of Human Development, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)

With a distinguished career in education, Associate Prof Sum has held pivotal roles including Divisional Director at the Ministry of Education (MOE), overseeing areas such as Pre-school Education, Special Education, and Gifted Education. Dr. Sum also served as Advisor for Preschool Education at the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) from 2014 to 2022. Her extensive experience and dedication have significantly contributed to the advancement of early childhood education in Singapore.

Registration Information

Session 1
(Diploma, Post-Diploma, Student Internship Programme (SIP) Award Graduands)

Registration starts from 8am at the Nanyang Auditorium. Please be in your graduation attire for registration and present your NRIC or Identification Card* for identification at the registration counter to get your allocated seat number. All graduands and guests are to be seated by 8.45am. Graduands are encouraged to arrive earlier for registration to avoid crowds. 

Session 2
(Advanced Certificate Graduands)

Registration starts from 12pm at the Nanyang Auditorium. Please be in your graduation attire for registration and present your NRIC or Identification Card* for identification at the registration counter to get your allocated seat number. All graduands and guests are to be seated by 12.45pm. Graduands are encouraged to arrive earlier for registration to avoid crowds. 

As this is a formal event, graduands and guests are to stay throughout the event to avoid disruptions and entry into the auditorium will not be allowed after the commencement time. 

*Graduands without NRIC or Identification Card will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. 

Graduands attending the graduation ceremony must wear the official graduation gown, consisting of a one-piece robe with a detachable collar flap. More details on the rental of the graduation gown can be found below. 

As this is a formal event, the following are some guidelines for the recommended attire to wear under the graduation gown. Please watch this video on how to wear the graduation gown.

Females
  • Dress/Blouse with sleeves
  • Skirts should be knee-length or longer
  • Court shoes or pumps.
  • Neat hairdo
  • Casual pants/jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts, culottes and bermudas
  • Sandals and slippers
  • Revealing tops/dresses (e.g. unbuttoned/low-cut, transparent, midriff-baring)
  • Revealing bottoms (e.g. mini-skirts/skirts with high slits)
Males
  • Collared shirt with sleeves and long pants along with tie
  • Formal shoes with socks
  • Neat hairdo
  • Casual pants/jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts/Bermudas
  • Sandals and slippers

Note: Graduands who are not wearing the graduation gown WILL NOT be allowed on stage.

Graduands are to be seated according to the assigned seat number given upon registration. 

Note: Graduands are required to observe proper decorum, and stay seated throughout the entire ceremony. 

  • While no photography is allowed on stage, graduands would be allowed to take photos during the event but please remain seated at all times when taking photos throughout the ceremony. There will be official professional photographers to take photos when graduands are on stage. 
  • Photographs & videos taken at this event may be used on NIEC’s website, marketing materials and in the press. By participating in this event, you consent to NIEC photographing and using your image & likeness.

Graduands will not be issued their certificates and transcripts on the actual day. Please refer to the email from NIEC Programme Management for collection details.

Collection and Rental of Graduation Gown

Registration for the graduation gown must be placed before 3 May 2025. Please follow the 2 steps below to register for the graduation gown or you may refer to the guide here:

  1. Creation of an Account
    • Login in to the vendor’s event page to register for an account.
    • Click on the NIEC event and sign up for an account.
    • After completion of the account creation, the login URL, username and password will be sent to your registered email.
  2. Registration for the Graduation Gown
    • Login in using the details sent to you via email. You will be required to provide details of your weight, height, collection/return dates of the graduation gown, before proceeding with the payment of the rental of gown to complete the registration process.

Graduands will not be allowed to go on stage if they are not wearing the graduation gown. 

Important Note: Graduation gown rental will not be available at the venue of the graduation ceremony.
