[NEW] Executive Leadership Series: Leadership and Professionalism (LDPM)
About Course
Through this course, Senior Leaders (Senior Principals and above) will get to understand ECDA’s vision, mission, values for the early childhood sector and key leadership models for building professionalism that would foster growth and development to achieve these key tenets of the sector.
Apart from discussing ECDA’s vision, mission and values and some common frameworks of the sector, participants will learn about leadership theories and common psychological theories for nurturing a learning culture at their centres.
Note: This is a pre-requisite course for other Executive Leadership Series courses.
Note: This course will be conducted face-to-face.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- understand through discussion, ECDA’s vision, mission, values for the early childhood sector;
- explore theories that under-gird the QRS and have deeper insights on quality;
- understand leadership and professionalism and leadership models for building professionalism in the sector;
- understand the distinctive role of EC leaders in raising quality and providing for leadership for learning;
- be motivated to act on building leadership for learning, professionalism, and learning cultures at centres;
- understand common psychological theories that are important for leading of centres; and
- understand the basics of Systems Theory and be able to apply this understanding to the operations of their centres.
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.
- Be ECDA-certified as an L2 teacher.
- Currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA.
