About Course
This 1-day continuing professional development (CPD) course focuses on the use of voice, positive interactions, as well as musical instruments and props to engage infants. Learners will also learn how to use transition songs for daily routine activities in infant classrooms.
Note: This course will be conducted face-to-face.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Use voice (infant-directed singing) in engaging infants.
- Interact with infants using simple percussion instruments, musical props and child-proof musical instruments specifically for infants.
- Select and use at least 10 songs in supporting infants’ holistic development.
- Design a music and movement experience of no more than 20 minutes for infants.
- Sing and make up piggyback songs for transition and daily routine activities.
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.
- Be ECDA-certified as EY1/EY2 teacher.
- Currently employed in a childcare centre (with infant care) registered or licensed with ECDA.
