Ms Darseni Rengasamy

Ms Darseni holds a Master’s degree in Education (Curriculum & Teaching) from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. Her Master’s research Critical Inquiry paper explored Singapore Early Childhood Educators’ perspectives on their professional identity. With 12 years of industry experience, she has assumed roles, including teaching, setting up a centre, curriculum planning, serving as a vice principal, and supervising practicums. As a lecturer, she specialises in Curriculum Planning and Implementation, Learning Environment and Classroom Management, Early Numeracy, and Tamil Language development.  

Ms. Darseni has shared at notable events, including as a keynote speaker at the Symposium for Pre-School Tamil Language Teachers in 2019, the e-Mother Tongue Languages Symposium in 2020, and the NIEC’s Teachers’ Day Nap-time Webinar in 2022. Her contributions to Ngee Ann Polytechnic have earned her awards such as the School Teaching Award (STA) in 2020, the Special Home-Based Learning Academic Award in 2021, and the NP Teaching Award – Commendation (NPTA) in 2022. She has also actively contributed to the early childhood fraternity by sharing her experiences at the ECDA Early Childhood Conference in 2024, the AECES Community of Practice in 2023, and articles in the Early Educator Journal in 2019 and 2023. Additionally, she served as a moderator at the PECERA Conference paper presentations in 2012 and the NIEC Conference in 2024.
