Ms Shanna-Mae Therese de Cruz holds a Master’s degree in Counselling with a specialisation in working with children and young persons with complex trauma with Flinders University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Early Childhood Education) from the University of South Australia. With more than 20 years of experience in the early childhood sector spanning across childcare centres and NIEC, she specialises in Educational Technology for engagement and teaching efficacy, Language and Literacy, and Socio-Emotional well-being. She was also a presenter at the recent NIEC Conference 2024 and other local conferences on the child-centred topics: Fostering Emotional Resilience in young children, Raising Brighter and Happier Kids Seminar, Teaching Children to Read workshop at the ECDA Conference 2019 and Supporting Early Literacy with Augmented Reality at EduTech Asia 2022. In 2022, Shanna-Mae was awarded the Staff Commendation Award for Academic Excellence (Individual).
