Ms Tan Hui Min holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Queensland University Technology, a Master’s degree of Arts (Applied Linguistics) and a Bachelor‘s degree of Arts (Major in Sociology) from Monash University. She had experience as a preschool teacher and was involved in community social work with children prior to joining the early childhood sector She now specialises in the areas of Child development, Motor Skills Development, Perspectives in Early Education and Mentoring. Ms Hui Min has contributed to developing the curriculum for Language and Literacy, Physical Development in Young Children and Infant and Toddler as well as developing modules in mentoring for professional growth. She is also an awardee of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic School Teaching Award in 2017 and 2022 and the President’s Award for Teachers in 2022. She has presented NIEC conference 2024 – ‘Enhancing Pre-Service Educators’ learning: The power of Student Mentoring’ as well as at the ECDA conferences on the topics “Upsize our staffs well-being with a PERMA Boost”, “Little People, Big Feelings: Using Children’s Literature for Socio-Emotional Development from Infancy to Preschool Years” and “Lend a Hand to Mother Tongue Language Learning: Puppetry with Young Children” at various ECDA conferences.
