Other ways to apply

1. Apply via the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) and be fully sponsored by your employer for your EC training!

The day intakes of selected courses are eligible for Workforce Singapore’s CCP, where your employer may sponsor your training at NIEC and provide a monthly salary during your course. Here’s how it works:

  • Secure sponsorship by an early childhood development centre (ECDC) licensed by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA). You may need to fulfil a bond to work with your employer. Visit the ECDA website for job portals and contact the centres directly for CCP opportunities.
  • Apply for our courses within 6 months of being hired. Upon successful enrolment, you will start your training at NIEC while working at the ECDC.
  • Enjoy full course sponsorship and a monthly work salary, provided by your employer!

The CCP is open to all company-sponsored applicants who:

  • Are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above;
  • Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least 2 years at the point of application;
  • Are newly-hired by participating ECDA-licensed ECDCs;
  • Are not in the same job role prior to joining the CCP.

To be eligible, you must be employed as a trainee teacher for no longer than 6 months from the course application date. Other terms and conditions apply.

2. Apply via the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) for Working Adults to enjoy a holistic poly/ITE experience.

The EAE is only applicable for these full-time courses:

The EAE for Working Adults is open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents only with at least 2 years of relevant work experience. For more information, visit the EAE website.

Financial Schemes

For Students

Part-time diploma, post-diploma and certificate students may apply to withdraw their PSEA balances for course fee payment. Eligibility  Singaporean students or students with Singaporean siblings who have PSEA funds. To check your PSEA balance, please call the PSEA Scheme Hotline at +65 6260 0777. How to Apply?
  1. Login using SingPass and fill up the e-form via the link(s) below:
  2. Follow the instructions in the e-form and submit the e-form to MOE accordingly.
    • Usage Category should be filled in as SSG-PDEV
    • Course code, course name and fee desciption, please click here for reference.
    • Indicate the amount you would like to utilise.
  3. Ensure that the information provided is correctly completed. MOE will reject your application if the information is incorrect or incomplete.
  4. Please only submit 1 application per course code. Application will be superseded by the latest application if multiple application is submitted.
  5. Please email your PSEA application ResponseID to financial_aid@niec.edu.sg for our record.

SkillsFuture Credit aims to encourage individuals to take ownership of their skills development and lifelong learning.

Eligibility

  • Applicable for all Continuing Education and Training (CET) and CPD courses.
  • Trainees may utilise the credits for this course and apply via www.skillsfuture.gov.sg/credit. This has to be performed 60 days before the course start date.

Singaporeans who are pursuing the following courses can apply for the MOE Bursary Scheme:

Successful applicants will receive bursaries to defray part of their tuition fees.

Eligibility

  • Singaporeans who meet the household income criteria are eligible to apply.

Applications submitted on or after 1 April 2020 will qualify for the scheme above.

UTAP is a scheme under the NTUC Education and Training Fund to help NTUC members defray their cost of training.

NTUC members enjoy 50% *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when signing up for NIEC courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of *unfunded course fees.

*Unfunded course fee refers to the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidies. Please refer to NTUC’s website for terms and conditions.

Eligibility
NTUC members must meet the following criteria:

  • Union member must commence the course within UTAP approved period.
  • Union member must achieve minimum attendance for the course based on existing Government regulations and sit for all prescribed examination(s) if any.
  • Union member must submit claims via UTAP system within 6 months after course completion.
  • Union member must not claim full funding through company sponsorship or other types of funding.
  • Union member must have paid-up union membership before course commencement, throughout the entire course duration and at the point of claim.
    Applicable for courses as listed on NTUC’s website by searching “National Institute of Early Childhood Development” under “Training Provider”.

How to Apply?
Login to your U Portal account to submit the UTAP application. NTUC Members should apply for their UTAP claim within 6 months after course ends.

Incentives for Employers
SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) provides absentee payroll funding to encourage employers to upskill their employees. Please visit the SSG website to check out the list of courses approved for funding support by SSG.

Note: The registration fee is non-refundable.

Administration Fee For Module Exemption Requests

Module exemptions may be applicable for the following courses:
  • Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN)
  • Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Learning Support (SDELS)
Applicants are strongly encouraged to take up the full qualification for these courses. Those who wish to apply for module exemptions may do so at the point of course application. Please note that there will be a one-time administration fee of $128.40 (inclusive of GST) per student. The fee is non-refundable and will apply regardless of the module exemption outcome.

Payment Of Fees

You will be informed of the fees payable and payment deadline in our letter of offer. If fees are not paid by the due date, the admission offer will lapse and appeals are subject to available vacancies. Please note that fee payment via eNETS credit card is currently unavailable due to technical issues. Meanwhile, you may pay via the following options:

This is only applicable for self-sponsored applicants and must be applied via the SkillsFuture Portal. More details on the SkillsFuture Credit claims will be advised upon admission into the course.

By Online Payment
You may make an online payment via eNETS. Refer to the e-offer letter for instructions on enrolment and payment. Please allow up to 3 working days for processing. You may be requested to submit an online payment receipt to the Course Administration Officer.

By Invoice
For company-sponsored courses, please contact us to request for an invoice to be emailed to your company. Course fee payment can be made with a company cheque or via internet banking.

We are unable to issue any invoice if payment is made prior to invoicing your company. We do not accept cash payment.
