[NEW] English Language & Literacy: Instructional Strategies for Diverse Learners
About Course
This course dovetails the updated NEL Framework 2022 and NEL Educators’ Guide for Language and Literacy to provide curriculum leaders and preschool educators with key ideas of quality English language and literacy (ELL) instruction for four- to six-year-old children. Participants will explore how to cater to diverse learning needs of children in the area of ELL learning and development.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- discuss the key goals for building children’s foundation in English language and literacy (ELL);
- understand and observe for the foundational ELL knowledge, skills and dispositions for 4- to 6-year-old children; and
- discuss teaching strategies for quality ELL instruction for 4- to 6-year-old children
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.
- Be ECDA-certified as L2 teacher.
- Currently employed in a childcare centre (with infant care) registered or licensed with ECDA.

18 hours
25 Feb 2026: 830am to 5pm, 26 Feb 2026: 830am to 5pm (classroom), 4 Mar 2026: 9am to 12pm (online class)
