[NEW] Overview of Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) 2023

About Course

This short course aims to provide infant, early years and preschool educators, centre leaders as well as curriculum/ pedagogy specialists with an overview of the revised Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) 2023. Key concepts: beliefs of children, areas of development and developmental goals, C.H.I.L.D. principles, the roles of educators and the Outcomes of Early Years will be covered.  

Note: This course will be conducted based on an online microlearning format. Learners can complete the course anytime within 2 weeks. The course is made up of bite-sized sessions that include short videos, readings and e-quizzes.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • identify beliefs about children;
  • identify the four areas of development and the corresponding developmental goals;
  • demonstrate understanding of C.H.I.L.D. principles; and
  • recognise the role of educators in supporting children’s well-being, learning and development to achieve the Outcomes of Early Years.
Upon Completion

Upon Completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

Entry Requirements

This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education;
  • be ECDA-certified as an L1/L2/EY1/EY2 teacher,
  • ECDA Fellows and non-certified personnel who are involved in programme development or centre-based assistant roles who are involved in supporting with the care and learning for children,
  • currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA or a HQ staff overseeing an ECDA-licensed ECDC; and
  • hold one of the following occupational titles: Beginning Infant Educator, Infant Educator, Beginning Early Years Educator, Early Years Educator, Senior Early Years Educator, Beginning Preschool Educator, Preschool Educator, Senior Preschool Educator, Lead Preschool Educator, Deputy Centre Leader
