符婉月：用卓别林的口，说爱因斯坦的话
[Translation: Foo Wan Yueh: Using Chaplin’s lips to speak Einstein’s words]
On 9 September 2025, NIEC (NP) Course Chair Ms Foo Wan Yueh wrote a piece highlighting the important role that educators play, especially in the context of mother tongue education. She notes PM Wong’s speech at the Teachers’ Appreciation Gala held by SPH Chinese Media Group, and discusses the importance of passion in the sector, then raising the need to refresh teaching methodologies.
Ms Foo calls for educators to practise what they preach, encouraging them to model the way for their students, and ends off by reflecting on her own journey thus far as an educator, thanking her students for the learning opportunities along the way.
