About Course

Effective Classroom Management & Behaviour Guidance for Inclusive Settings is part of the Inclusive Practice Series, where existing educators can gain skills to better support children with learning or developmental needs.

This course aims to provide early childhood educators with practical skills in classroom management when addressing the needs of children with challenging and disruptive behaviours within the inclusive classrooms.

It examines critical traits and skills necessary towards enhancing the educator’s competencies in implementing behaviour modification strategies when managing inclusive learning environment for all learners. It also offers easy to implement guidance procedures towards addressing conflicts and the use of functional assessment tools in sustaining positive outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Relate the link between classroom management strategies and positive teacher-student relations when managing learners with additional needs.
  • Examine characteristics of teachers as effective classroom managers in implementing behaviour modifications strategies.
  • Identify conflict resolutions in addressing challenging behaviours.
  • Apply crisis management techniques in difficult situations.
  • Identify guidance trends and techniques towards managing conflicts among learners with additional needs.
  • Construct positive behaviour support plan to sustain positive outcomes in inclusive settings.
Upon Completion

Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).

Entry Requirements

This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed an ECDA-recognised certificate or diploma in early childhood care and education.
  • Be ECDA-certified as a L2 teacher.
  • Currently employed in a childcare centre registered or licensed with ECDA.
