Leading and Supporting Outdoor Learning
Leading and Supporting Outdoor Learning
About Course
This 2-day course is for centre leaders, who are keen to learn how they can lead and support their teachers in providing outdoor learning experiences for children. Centre leaders will gain the knowledge and skills to integrate the outdoors as part of the centre programme. Adopting an awareness-building approach, leaders will be engaged in activities aimed at building staff capability and resource development.
Underlying these activities will be the use of a practice-based inquiry approach to enhance teacher development. Key concepts in outdoor learning will be woven into the activities, and strategies for change management will be introduced to facilitate implementation.
*Learners will be required to do some pre-reading and pre-course preparation.
Note: This course will be conducted face-to-face.
Learners will be able to:
- Explore their personal perspectives of outdoor learning and leadership awareness.
- Use strategies and tools to address their challenges and adopt a practice-based inquiry approach.
- Develop a plan of action for outdoor learning for their centre.
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
