[NEW] Empowering Children with Body Safety Skills
[NEW] Empowering Children with Body Safety Skills
About Course
This course provides learners with a comtextual understanding of child sexual abuse and guidelines in handling suspected disclosures of such cases in a preschool setting. Learners will also be equipped to conduct child sexual abuse prevention activities such that children learn to respect their bodies, differentiate between good and bad touches, as well as right and wrong actions, and to tell a trusted adult if they are touched inappropriately. These body safety knowledge and skills will empower children to protect themselves.
Note: This course will be conducted in-person.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- understand the context of child sexual abuse and its signs and symptoms;
- be aware of the guidelines and deploy appropriate strategies to handle disclosures of child sexual abuse and handle instances of inappropriate peer-on-peer touching;
- be equipped to conduct the KidzLive: I Can Protect Myself programme such that educators are able to teach children body safety skills; and
- explore ways to integrate body safety messages into centre practices.
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
