Ashvin Ganesan, a Year 1 Diploma in Tamil Studies with Early Education (TSE) student from NIEC (NP) Campus, won first prize in the ‘Think in Tamil! Read in Tamil! 2026’ event organised by Mediacorp Tamil News & Current Affairs.

The event was jointly organised by Mediacorp Tamil News and Current Affairs team, the Ministry of Digital Development and Information’s National Translation Committee, and supported by the Singapore Tamil Teachers’ Union. About 100 students from secondary and tertiary education institutions participated, putting their translation skills to the test.
