About Course

Design and facilitate stimulating outdoor experiences for children aged 5 and 6 years old to play, explore and discover. In this 2-day course, you will learn how pedagogy planning can contribute to each child’s learning and development beyond the classroom.

You will be involved in different activities for children in diverse outdoor contexts, from physical play to imaginative storytelling. You will also better understand the guiding principles, theoretical perspectives, and practical knowledge to enhance children’s learning and development in the outdoors.

To build your confidence in navigating nature’s playground, the course will guide you in conducting risk-benefit assessment, so you can develop a safe and supportive outdoor environment for the children.

Note: Outdoors as the Extended Classroom for 5 and 6-Year-Olds will be conducted via online learning until further notice. In-person lessons may resume for upcoming intakes, subject to prevailing COVID-19 measures implemented by the government. Students will be notified at least 1 week to the commencement of these intakes.
