Keys to Successful Classroom Management
About Course
This course is formerly known as "Teacher-Child Interaction & Classroom Management".
This 21-hour continuing professional development (CPD) course focuses on enabling learners to understand children’s behaviours, communicate and interact with them effectively, and use effective classroom management strategies for effective teaching. Learners will acquire knowledge and skills to establish positive relationships with children that will support the educators in promoting positive behaviours in the early childhood classroom. Learners will integrate and apply strategies to refine and evaluate their classroom management skills.
Note: This course will be conducted via online learning until further notice.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

Use strategies (ABC reporting) to observe and document children’s learning and behaviours.

Establish positive relationships with children and promote positive behaviour.

Respect similarities and differences and encourage children to model positive attitudes.

Integrate, evaluate and refine classroom management strategies.
Entry Requirements
This course is for individuals who meet the following criteria:

Be ECDA-certified as an EY1/EY2 educarer or L1/ L2 teacher.

Currently employed in a preschool registered or licensed with ECDA.
Course Assessment Requirements
Applicants are required to observe and implement an activity with a child/small group of children. Should you have concerns about meeting this assessment requirement due to school holidays, you may consider alternative intakes that do not fall within the holiday period.
Upon Completion
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
